Instead, learn how to lose weight with these top ten fat burning foods and spices. You’ll feel full, satisfied and love the variety in your diet. The weight will drop off and you’ll never feel deprived!

1. Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper is a great spice for weight loss. Not only does it increase your metabolism naturally, it improves digestion, increases your energy and strengthens your heart. Cayenne pepper also fights inflammation so it’s an excellent choice for those with arthritis or other inflammatory conditions.

Cayenne pepper can be sprinkled in food or taken in supplement form. You may also choose to take half a teaspoon and mix it into a 4 ounce glass of water and drink every other day.

2. Garlic

According to a study, rats fed a high-sugar diet gained less weight when garlic was also added to their diet. The weight of the rats in the control group skyrocketed. Garlic is another ideal spice for weight loss because it improves digestion and helps eliminate any parasites or bad bacteria that could be harming your digestive system.

When using garlic in food, raw organic garlic is best. Cooking the garlic detracts from its health properties.

3. Ginger

Ginger is a powerful spice that raises the body temperature, which increases metabolism naturally and aids in your weight loss effort. It is also an effective natural digestive aid and anti-inflammatory. Ginger is commonly used in stir-fry but can also be taken in supplement form.

Take caution if you’re on any blood thinning medication or if you have a bleeding disorder as ginger further increases bleeding risk.

4. Apples

Apples are an excellent source of fiber and water, two necessary ingredients for weight loss. The wide variety of apples available means you’ll never be bored with the same old fruit everyday. Choose from gala, delicious, granny smith, McIntosh and so many more! Apples make a great breakfast food for weight loss or can be eaten as a health snack between meals.

5. Beans

Beans are a good fat-burning food because they are loaded with protein and fiber. Protein keeps your blood sugar level and keeps you feeling fuller longer. Fiber keeps your body cleansed of toxins and keeps your digestive system regular. It is especially beneficial in eliminating belly fat.

When choosing beans, select beans in a bag instead of a can as they are fresher and contain no preservatives.

6. Cheese

You may think cheese is a food to steer clear of when you’re trying to lose weight, but actually cheese is a fat-burning food. Cheese is filled with protein, which helps you feel fuller longer. The linoleic acid in cheese also accelerates the fat-burning process, making weight-loss easier.

Cottage cheese, string cheese and hard cheeses are the best fat-burning cheeses to eat.

7. Seafood

Meaty fish such as salmon and tuna are both excellent fat-burning foods. It acts positively with the hormone leptin, which is responsible for storing or burning calories.

Wild-caught fish is best as it does not contain pesticides or hormones, which can cause health problems and make losing weight more difficult.

8. Fennel

Fennel is a crunchy, slightly sweet spice that has been known to aid in weight loss. The word fennel, in Greek, means “to grown thin”. To aid in your weight-loss effort, drink fennel tea before a meal or bake fennel into homemade muffins.

9. Olive Oil

Rich in monounsaturated fat, olive oil helps decrease bad cholesterol while raising good. Studies show those who included olive oil in their diet were better able to lose weight without further food restriction or an increase in physical activity. Monounsaturated fat also seems to help reduce the urge to eat and helps the body’s breakdown of stored fat.

Olive oil can be used in a mixture for homemade salad dressing, in pasta dishes, or drizzled over freshly steamed vegetables.

10. Turkey

Turkey isn’t just for Thanksgiving. It can aid in your weight-loss efforts by helping to store lean muscle mass. It has fewer calories than most protein-rich foods and helps improve metabolism.

No need to buy the whole bird when you want to nibble on a little turkey. You can buy a leg or two and bake it with your favorite fat-burning spices.

When you’re trying to lose weight, don’t starve yourself or turn to diet foods. Instead, turn to a whole food diet of fat-burning foods and watch the pounds melt away without feeling deprived!

  1. I especially agree that garlic and beans help you lose weight. Most Asian cultures use both of these heavily and they do not have problems with obesity. Also, green tea is a fat burning drink. I don’t think the capsule works as well as drinking the actual tea itself.
