I Love drinking coconut water after exercise as it helps me rehydrate I have never known anything like it. It refreshes me fast and helps me feel 10 times better. The only trouble I found was that I didn't like the taste. So what I did was try many different brands. When I came across Cocofina, www.cocofina.com I found that it doesnt have the same bland taste as others. It has a creamy nutty flavour which is amazing. I now cant get enough of it.

Apart from being a refreshment coconut water/juice has many benefits.

I was in and out of hospital for about 5 years suffering from typhoid, but since I boycotted hospital medicines and started using coconut water/juice last year the problem has gone.

I am from Malindi Kenya where we have coconut trees plantations. Here you can get one coconut at $ 0.15 only.

In Swahili we call the young coconut(s) = (ma)dafu and the matured coconut(s)= Nazi. Just to make it clear this article is talking about young coconuts.

The best option is to buy a young coconut. You can hear the water inside when you shake it. Young coconuts are usually sold at every Asian store (mostly Chinese and Vietnamese markets). You can open it and get the coconut water. You can also eat the white flesh inside.

That way you do not get any added sugar, other than a small amount of sugar naturally present in the coconut.

You may find just the coconut water in a can, but you will need to check the labels to see if additional sugar and preservatives have been added.

I love drinking coconut water especially in the summer. As your article says, I also avoid canned coconut water and I like to sip it out of the young coconut. It is also fun to scrape the white flesh inside and enjoy the fruit as well.
